Going the Distance to Make a Difference in Foster Youth
Our Mission
The Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation provides quality services and support to current and former foster youth through innovative programs and collaborative initiatives with community partners.
The Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation began as an outreach ministry of First African Methodist Episcopal (F.A.M.E.) Church of Los Angeles in 2013. In 2016 the Foundation became an independent 501c3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving current and former foster youth in LA County.

How it started
The initiative began by creating and hosting events specifically for current and former foster youth. The Department of Children 7 Family Services followed by local community members and trade unions. The collaborations have expanded as our services to the current and former foster youth have increased

How It's going
In October 2020 The Biddy Mason Charitable Foundation was blessed with a 4,000 sq ft facility as the result of our partnership with the California Lutheran Homes Foundation. The facility is now being referred to as The Biddy Mason Center, located in the historic area of West Adams Los Angeles. The Biddy Mason Center is home to an exclusive wide assortment of African-American art and history. The Biddy Mason Center Is also home to college-aged females whose personal histories include foster care. As we continue to move upward through our mission statement we will need your continued support.

Our main source of inspiration for the philanthropy work serving our current and former foster youth is owed to Bridget “Biddy” Mason- an African-American woman, midwife, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose legacy we continue to educate our community through our mission.
