As Councilmember Kevin de Léon recently announced his intent to rename LA’s Pershing Square in honor of Miss Mason\, this is a timely opportunity to learn more about this remarkable historic figure. \nEvent Highlights: \n\nNew Research Unveiled: Learn about Biddy Mason’s life and her significant role shaping Los Angeles.\nCelebrate Freedom Seekers: Explore the stories of other freedom seekers in Southern California who contributed to our city’s rich culture.\nFoster Inclusive Knowledge of LA History: Learn practical ways to promote the oft-overshadowed contributions of Black individuals in Los Angeles within your own community.\n\nThis event is free and open to the public.
